Protests in Suining City

On 22 April, according to news reports, more than 1,000 workers held a protest in Suining City, Sichuan Province.

The workers blocked the main roads in the city in a dispute over contracts at the Suining Textile Plant which employs some 4,000 workers.

Local city officials were reported as saying that the “problem’ had already been solved and the incident reported to the central authorities. The textile plant allegedly resumed normal production on 23 April.
