Hongkong Post unveils stamp programme for first half of 2027
Hongkong Post has announced six new definitive stamps featuring Hong Kong landmarks, along with special issues on the Year of the Goat, Northern New Territories, national security education, public housing and hiking trails. Pre-orders are open now until 23 November.
Hongkong Post has released details of its stamp issuance programme for January to June 2027, featuring six new definitive stamps and several special and commemorative issues. The new definitive stamps continue the design style of the 2025 Hong Kong Definitive Stamp series, depicting local landmarks including the Kai Tak Sports Park, the Hong Kong夜景, the Hong Kong International Airport Three-runway System, Lion Rock, the Peak Tower and Sha Lo Tong.
For the Lunar New Year, Hongkong Post will issue the fourth set of the fifth series of festive zodiac stamps to mark the Year of the Goat. The set comprises four stamps and two miniature sheets showing goats in different poses, with flowers and festive motifs. A "Gallant Horse and Auspicious Goat" gold-and-silver stamp miniature sheet will also be released, with the horse and goat embossed in silver and 22K gold foil. A new series, the "Pearlescent Ink Embossed Zodiac Stamps – Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat", applies pearlescent ink and embossing to create a soft, lustrous finish. A joint souvenir folder with China Post and Macau Post will also be issued, details of which will be announced later.
A special stamp set themed on the Northern New Territories will showcase four zones: high-end professional services and logistics hub, innovation and technology zone, border trade and industry area, and blue-green recreation and tourism ecological zone. The issue highlights the region's role as a future engine for Hong Kong's economy and its development into an international innovation and technology centre.
To mark National Security Education Day on 15 April, Hongkong Post will issue a commemorative stamp promoting national security awareness. The stamp follows the opening of Hong Kong's first national security exhibition hall in August 2024. A new set of four special stamps, "Development of Hong Kong Public Housing II", will illustrate how diversified concepts of well-being create more comfortable living environments and public spaces for residents. Finally, the fourth and final issue in the hiking trail series will feature the Hong Kong Trail, following earlier issues on the Lantau Trail, MacLehose Trail and Wilson Trail.
