Hong Kong's talent office and the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce co-hosted a networking event on 6 November 2026 to help incoming professionals integrate into the local business community and build connections.

Speaking at the event, talent office director Chan Hoi-king said support from the local business sector is crucial for the development of talent arriving in Hong Kong. He noted that many newcomers have expressed a desire to understand local workplace culture and entrepreneurial information, as well as to establish business networks. The event was organised to provide a platform for exchange and networking. Chan expressed hope that participants would make friends from various sectors and accelerate their integration into Hong Kong.

The event included a thematic seminar where human resources professionals offered advice on integrating into the workplace. Representatives from a workplace social media platform and two incoming talents shared their experiences in building networks and starting businesses. During a subsequent networking session, incoming talents exchanged insights on working and living in Hong Kong with chamber members and professionals from various industries. Some participants said the event allowed them to meet friends from different sectors and deepened their understanding of career development opportunities in Hong Kong.

Chan said the talent office will continue to provide comprehensive and diversified support services, including community experience activities, Cantonese language classes, and a talent volunteer programme, to help incoming talents integrate into Hong Kong, develop their careers, enjoy life, and achieve excellence.
