Hong Kong government appoints new Hospital Authority members

The Hong Kong government announced on 9 October 2026 the reappointment and appointment of members to the Hospital Authority. Professor Sam Ho-keung, Dean of the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, has been reappointed as a member for a two-year term from 1 November 2026 to 31 October 2028.
Reverend Kwan Ho-ming, a current Legislative Council election committee member and chairman of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, has been appointed as a new member for a two-year term from 12 October 2026 to 11 October 2028. He previously served on the hospital governing committee of Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital.
Secretary for Health Professor Lo Chung-mau welcomed the new member and expressed appreciation to the reappointed member, according to a government press release.
The Hospital Authority comprises a chairman, 22 non-official members, three civil servants and one chief executive. From 1 November 2026, the membership list includes Chairman Peter Fong; non-official members Dr. Owen Chan, Dr. Chan Yin-lee, Professor Chan Tak-gong, Chow Pui-ying, Professor Chiu Wai-yan, Yoyo Chiu, Fung Yuen-mei, Hui Mei-sheung, Chai Siu-tong, Ko Yiu-cheung, Reverend Kwan Ho-ming, Kwok Pui-ho, Kwong Ka-sing, Lam Wai-kiu, Lam Yu-kai, Professor Lau Chak-sing, Professor Sam Ho-keung, Tong Sau-chai, Tsang Sin-fun, Dr. Tsang Ho-fai, Wan Man-yi and Professor Wong Woon-man; civil servants include Permanent Secretary for Health Chan Chung-ching, Director of Health Dr. Lam Man-kin, and Deputy Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury (Treasury) Lau Sze-man; and Chief Executive of the Hospital Authority Dr. Lee Ha-yan.
