15 family medicine clinics to offer public holiday service on Monday
Hong Kong's Hospital Authority says 15 family medicine clinics will open on the public holiday on 19 October. Appointments can be made by phone or via mobile apps. Non-urgent patients are advised to avoid emergency departments.
The Hospital Authority has announced that 15 family medicine clinics will provide public holiday family medicine outpatient services on the coming Monday, 19 October, the day after the Chung Yeung Festival holiday.
Patients seeking treatment can book appointments through the telephone booking system, the Health Connect mobile application, or the “HA Go” mobile application using the “Book Family Medicine Clinic Appointment” function.
A spokesperson reminded members of the public to maintain personal and environmental hygiene during the holiday period to prevent the spread of diseases. Those showing symptoms of respiratory infection should wear a mask and seek medical attention promptly.
The spokesperson emphasised that non-urgent patients should avoid using emergency departments and should instead seek treatment at family medicine clinics, private doctors, or private hospital 24-hour outpatient services, in order to reduce pressure on public hospital emergency departments.
Members of the public can visit the Medical and Health Bureau's Primary Care Directory at www.pcdirectory.gov.hk to choose a suitable family doctor and check their consultation details.
