Hong Kong announces three district flag-selling days for 7 November
Hong Kong's Social Welfare Department announced three district flag-selling charity events will be held on 7 November, with permits and details published online. The department urged the public to verify charity collectors and report suspicious activity to police.
Hong Kong's Social Welfare Department announced on 7 November that three district flag-selling days would be held simultaneously, with arrangements made to help the public identify the different charity collections.
All permits for charitable fundraising in public places, including any updates, have been published via the Hong Kong Government One Portal (www.gov.hk/tc/theme/fundraising/search). The flag-day permits have also been uploaded to the Social Welfare Department's website (www.swd.gov.hk/tc/ngo/controlofc/flagdays), providing contact details of the charity organisations and information on approved flag-day activities.
The department said the public could call its hotline on 2343 2255 or the 1823 call centre on 3142 2678 for inquiries.
A department spokesman added: “If members of the public have doubts about a flag-selling activity, they should not donate and should immediately notify the police.”
