Building Department orders One Stanley developer to probe 8 more houses
The Building Department has ordered developer Grand Hope to conduct detailed investigations into eight more houses and common areas at the One Stanley project in Stanley after a defect was found in one house. The developer must submit results within one month.
The Buildings Department has demanded that the developer of the One Stanley residential project in Stanley conduct additional detailed investigations into eight more houses after irregularities were found in one of the detached houses, according to an updated sales brochure.
Developer Grand Hope updated its sales brochure after receiving a letter from the Buildings Department on 2 October. The letter said that following inspections and tests, the department found several non-compliant items in one of the houses in the development, including a beam on the ground floor where wire mesh was not installed as required under the approved plans, and some floor slabs where the reinforcement layout did not match the approved drawings.
The sales brochure said the Buildings Department's letter required the vendor, acting as the developer, to arrange detailed investigations into multiple residential properties in the development, including the affected house, eight other houses, and common areas in Block 9. The developer must submit the investigation results and all relevant information or documents to the Buildings Department within one month from the date of the letter.
In response to enquiries, the Buildings Department said it is investigating the case seriously and declined to comment further at this stage.
