One Stanley Developer Offers Extra Six-Year Structural Warranty After Defect Discovery
Developer of One Stanley in Stanley pledges an additional six-year structural warranty and free independent inspections for owners after rebar discrepancies were found in a house. The firm will cooperate with the Buildings Department, which says no imminent danger exists.
The developer of One Stanley, a residential project in Stanley, has pledged to provide owners with an additional six-year structural warranty and free independent inspections, following the discovery of rebar discrepancies in one house. The firm, Kin Wai Limited, said it will fully cooperate with the Buildings Department's investigation and take necessary follow-up actions as required.
In a statement, the company said that according to information released by the Buildings Department, the overall structure of the affected house and the issues found do not pose an obvious danger. The department is conducting further investigations into certain construction quality aspects. Since the investigation is ongoing, the company said it would be inappropriate to comment on unverified technical matters at this stage.
Regarding complaints from the buyer involved, the company said it had suggested both parties jointly appoint independent professionals to conduct further inspections to objectively clarify the situation, but no consensus was reached. Subsequent discussions on transaction arrangements and demands also failed to produce an agreement.
The company acknowledged that the incident has caused concern among owners, buyers, and the public, and stressed that building safety and owners' interests are its top priorities. It said it is contacting owners and buyers to offer, in addition to the original three-year defect liability period, an extra six-year structural warranty from the date of completion. The firm will also bear the costs of arranging independent qualified professionals to inspect the properties. Specific arrangements will be announced later.
