Hong Kong to host APEC finance ministers meeting on 20-21 October

Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee announced on 6 October that this year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Finance Ministers' Meeting will take place in Hong Kong on 20-21 October. The meeting is hosted by China's Ministry of Finance and organised by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) government.
According to Lee, the event will continue discussions from other APEC finance meetings, covering global and regional macroeconomic and financial conditions, fiscal policies supporting livelihoods, financing for digital infrastructure, inclusive finance tailored to local conditions, and promoting exchanges and cooperation among APEC youth financial talent.
Lee said the meeting will include formal sessions, a welcome dinner, seminars and site visits. He expressed gratitude for the central government's trust in the SAR government. The Ministry of Finance is currently handling registration and accreditation for participants, and the SAR government will maintain close communication and cooperation with the ministry to assist delegations in completing registration procedures.
Lee noted that the Ministry of Finance will provide supporting services including hotel accommodation, transport and reception courtesies in accordance with APEC guidelines and requirements. The SAR government will fully cooperate with the ministry to ensure a high-quality experience for delegations. Further announcements will be made as information becomes available.
