The Chinese government controlled Hong Kong newspaper, Takungpao, on 3 July, 2007, quoted China Labour Bulletin's press release on the passage of the Labour Contract Law.
Under the heading "New Labour Law welcomed by Foreign Chambers of Commerce", CLB was quoted (following a quote from a spokesman for the European Union Chamber of Commerce) as saying the new law was laudable but that we cautioned that without determined enforcement, labour abuses are unlikely to decline.
This was the first time CLB's expert opinion had been cited by the Takungpao.
