Eight people were killed and four injured in an accident at a road construction site in Huangshan city in east China's Anhui Province in the afternoon of 4 March 2003.
According to reports, at around 5pm, at the construction site of 16th section of Huizhou-Hangzhou highway, 12 workers were taking shelter from the rain in the work shed at the construction site when a the arm of a crane broke off from the main frame and fell down on the rood of the shed.
Seven workers reportedly died at the scene, while another died on the way to hospital.
Four others who were seriously injured were taken to Changhua Hospital, in neighbouring Zhejiang Province.
