Triathlon this weekend triggers phased road closures in Central and Wan Chai

Hong Kong will hold a triathlon event this Saturday and Sunday, 7 and 8 November. The Transport Department reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in phases in Central and Wan Chai from Thursday, 5 November, to Sunday.

From 10:00 on Thursday until about 20:00 on Sunday, a section of Expo Drive between Legislative Council Road and Expo Drive Central will be temporarily closed. From 01:00 to about 14:00 on Saturday and from 01:00 to about 18:00 on Sunday, road closures and diversions will be in place around Central Harbourfront and Wan Chai North.

To support the road closures along Central Harbourfront, Citybus will temporarily reroute some services via Connaught Road Central during certain periods on Saturday and Sunday. The bus stop on Man Yiu Street near Two International Finance Centre will also be suspended until the roads reopen.

The Transport Department urged residents and visitors to use public transport as much as possible to avoid traffic congestion and unnecessary delays. During the event, the Transport Department and the police will closely monitor the situation and may adjust arrangements as needed based on crowd and traffic conditions in the area.
