Third Hong Kong Youth Development Summit to open on Saturday

The third 'Hong Kong Youth Development Summit' will be held on Saturday (7 November 2026) at the Wan Chai Exhibition Centre, with the theme 'Opening New Horizons for Youth, Pursuing Dreams to Create the Future'. The summit will invite officials responsible for youth development or education from mainland China, Laos, Kazakhstan and other places to serve as guest speakers, sharing their insights with young participants from Hong Kong and around the world.

Three thematic forums will focus on culture and sports, music and performing arts, as well as the latest developments in frontier technology. Speakers include pianist Shen Jingtao, artist Zeng Bite, Legislative Council members, and experts and scholars from various fields.

The summit is organised by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau. Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Ma Ho-ming said the summit is the first large-scale international youth event since the release of 'Hong Kong's First Five-Year Plan'. He said the purpose is to provide an international exchange platform for local youth and to open up space for youth development.

Mr Ma noted that the number of young people registered for the summit has increased with each edition, reflecting their growing engagement and more opportunities to express their views. He said he hopes that through the sharing of different speakers, young people can be inspired by the successful experiences of others, and think about how to better equip themselves and pursue their dreams. He also hopes they can understand international development trends, keep up with the times, and benefit their career development.

In addition to the summit, the authorities will arrange for more than 500 young people from mainland China and overseas to take part in local visits and exchange activities. These include visits to the Lok Ma Chau area, Cyberport, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Hong Kong Palace Museum, the M+ Museum, and Ocean Park. The visits are intended to give local youth opportunities to exchange with foreign guests, and to help overseas youth better understand Hong Kong's development and culture.
