Man critically hurt after being hit by taxi in Sham Shui Po
A man aged about 30 was critically injured when a taxi struck him in Sham Shui Po early on Friday. The driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm. Police are investigating the accident.
A man aged about 30 was critically injured after being hit by a taxi in Sham Shui Po early on Friday, police said.
The accident occurred around midnight as the taxi travelled along Tung Chau Street towards Mong Kok and struck the man near Sham Shui Po Park, according to the force.
Police and rescuers arrived to find the man with facial injuries. He was still breathing and had a pulse but was briefly unconscious. He was taken to Princess Margaret Hospital for treatment.
Police arrested the taxi driver on suspicion of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and took him to a police station for investigation. The taxi was towed away and traffic returned to normal.
Police are investigating the cause, including the man's position and the taxi's movements.
