Hong Kong to hold three district flag-selling days on Saturday

The Social Welfare Department (SWD) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government has announced arrangements for three district flag-selling days to be held simultaneously on Saturday, 24 October. The department said it has coordinated with the participating charitable organisations to ensure the smooth running of the events and to help the public identify the three separate flag-selling activities taking place that day.

According to the SWD, details of all charitable fundraising activities licensed to take place in public places, including any updates, have been published on the Hong Kong Government's one-stop portal (www.gov.hk/tc/theme/fundraising/search). In addition, the permits for the flag-selling days have been uploaded to the SWD website (www.swd.gov.hk/tc/ngo/controlofc/flagdays), where the public can find contact information for the flag-selling organisations and the approved flag-day activities.

Members of the public with enquiries can call the SWD hotline at 2343 2255 or the 1823 call centre at 3142 2678.

A department spokesman added: 'If members of the public have any suspicions about a flag-selling activity, please do not donate and immediately notify the police.'
