Several Hong Kong athletes who competed at the Nagoya Asian Games will greet the public in an open-top bus parade in Sha Tin next Tuesday, the Home Affairs Department said on social media.
The athletes include multiple gold medallists, such as rower Chiu Hin-chun and windsurfer Wong Tsz-ho. Also taking part are silver medallists from rowing — Hung Wing-chun, Leung Wing-on and Cheung Yuen-shan — along with windsurfer Ma Kwan-ching and squash player Ho Tsz-lok.
The event will begin at 4pm with a kick-off ceremony at Sha Tin Town Hall Square. The parade route will pass outside Tai Wau MTR station, Kingswood Plaza in Shek Mun, and Chung On Shopping Centre.
The parade is jointly organised by the Sha Tin Festival Committee and the Sha Tin District Home Affairs Office. In addition to the bus tour, commemorative souvenirs will be distributed to the public on the day.
