Burst salt water main floods Kwai Fong motorcycle parking spaces

A salt water main burst on Wing Fong Road in Kwai Fong on Thursday evening, sending muddy water onto the road and flooding motorcycle parking spaces. The incident occurred around 10pm near Shing Fong Street.

Photos from the scene showed a row of motorcycle parking spaces surrounded by yellow muddy water, with the wheels of several motorcycles submerged. Nearby private cars were also parked on the muddy water. Water was seen flowing rapidly into drains, with splashes at the drain openings.

The road surface and pavement edges were described as slippery, but no motorcycles had fallen. Police attended and confirmed the burst pipe was a salt water main, notifying the Water Supplies Department.

The department's records showed salt water supply in the area was temporarily suspended at 10.36pm and restored at 11.08pm, about 32 minutes later. The department said actual restoration time may vary depending on on-site repair progress.
