HK Transport Department Briefs Taxis on Huanggang Port Pick-up Arrangements
Ahead of the Huanggang Port opening, Hong Kong's Transport Department has briefed the taxi trade on pick-up procedures, including queuing and ticket systems. Drivers must obtain tickets at buffer zones before proceeding to designated stands, with ambassadors assisting passenger registration.
The Transport Department of Hong Kong has briefed the taxi trade on detailed arrangements for picking up passengers at the upcoming Huanggang Port, aiming to ensure orderly queuing, flow management, and ticket allocation at the new checkpoint.
In a social media post, the department stated that empty urban and New Territories taxis, as well as pre-booked fleet taxis, must first collect queue tickets at the public transport buffer zone. They will then proceed in order to the taxi stands at the port's public transport interchange or the designated boarding areas for fleet taxis, ensuring smooth overall traffic at the checkpoint.
On-site ambassadors will be present to assist passengers in registering vehicle plate numbers and coordinating the dispatch of pre-booked fleet taxis, the department added.
For passengers using pre-booked fleet taxis, a dedicated waiting area has been set up inside the Huanggang Port building. Passengers are advised to first approach the service counter in the waiting area, show the registered vehicle plate number of their booked taxi to the fleet taxi ambassador for registration, and monitor the display screen for the taxi's arrival information before proceeding to board once the vehicle arrives.
