China, UK finance chiefs hold video call on economic cooperation

Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng and UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves held a video call on 8 October to discuss strengthening economic and financial cooperation, Xinhua reported. Both sides agreed to deepen dialogue and respect core interests.

China, UK finance chiefs hold video call on economic cooperation

Chinese Vice-Premier He Lifeng and UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves held a video call on 8 October to discuss strengthening economic and financial cooperation between their countries, according to state news agency Xinhua.

He Lifeng, who is Beijing's lead for the China-UK Economic and Financial Dialogue, accepted an invitation to hold the video conversation with Reeves, the UK's lead for the dialogue. The two sides exchanged views on deepening bilateral economic and financial cooperation and on issues of mutual concern.

He Lifeng said China and the UK should jointly implement the important consensus reached by their leaders, continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in economic and financial fields, respect each other's core interests, and pursue mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. He called for stable and positive development of bilateral economic ties.

Reeves said the UK is willing to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with China in economic and financial fields, and to promote the continuous development of UK-China relations, the Xinhua report added.
