Hong Kong launches high-end lifestyle expo with superyachts and supercars

A new international high-end lifestyle flagship exhibition, the "World Connoisseur Gala", opened on 4 November at the AsiaWorld-Expo and will run for three days, according to government sources.

Financial Secretary Paul Chan and Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Edward Chui attended the opening ceremony. Chan said in his speech that the event brings together exquisite craftsmanship and innovative ideas. He described Hong Kong as playing a "super-connector" role, leveraging its free flow of capital, goods, talent and information, its simple and low tax system, and its unique advantages as a gateway to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to provide an ideal platform for international brands to showcase quality products, expand their customer base and build partnerships to develop more business opportunities.

Chan noted that the government had set aside HK$100 million in this year's Budget to attract high-quality, large-scale international exhibitions to Hong Kong, and the "World Connoisseur Gala" is the first exhibition to receive funding under that measure.

The exhibition breaks from the traditional indoor, single-venue model by extending from indoor halls to outdoor spaces, displaying superyachts, supercars and other global and mainland Chinese luxury lifestyle brands. It attracted a large number of high-end exhibitors, buyers and visitors from overseas and mainland China.

The organiser launched a series of pre-exhibition activities starting 1 November and will collaborate with the Lantau Yacht Club to combine its "2026 Maritime Luxury Gala" with the "World Connoisseur Gala", creating a major yachting event that will allow the public to experience an immersive event, according to the source.
