Vacancy information

An Artisan is mainly deployed on – (a) Agriculture Branch : (i) carrying out general field work in crop production, i.e. land preparation, planting or seed sowing, irrigation, weeding, pesticide application, fertiliser application, harvesting, etc; (ii) carrying out general work in hydroponic vegetable production, i.e. preparation for planting, cultivation, harvesting, packaging and cleaning of production sites; (iii) operating farm machinery such as rotary cultivators, mowers, motorised-sprayers, and other equipment; and carrying out minor maintenance and repairs; (iv) propagating and maintaining vegetable seedlings and/or fruit trees for production and investigation purposes; and (v) conducting specialised field work according to experimental and development requirements. (b) Inspection and Quarantine Branch : (i) performing farm work which requires special skills in livestock… Candidates should – (a) have at least 3 years’ working experience in an appropriate trade; (b) be able to communicate in Cantonese/Chinese and simple English; read simple Chinese and simple English; and write simple Chinese or simple English; and (c) have a pass result in the Basic Law and National Security Law Test (Note 2).
