Civil Engineering Graduates and Structural Engineering Graduates

Civil Engineering Graduates will receive Scheme ‘A’ training in the Civil discipline registered with the HKIE, under the management of the Works group of departments (the Civil Engineering and Development Department, the Drainage Services Department, the Highways Department and the Water Supplies Department) or the Housing Authority. Structural Engineering Graduates will receive Scheme ‘A’ training in the Structural discipline registered with the HKIE, under the management of the Architectural Services Department. Applicants must (a) obtain an academic qualification in or after 2026 which is required for corporate membership of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) in the Civil or Structural discipline as appropriate and for admission into their Training Scheme ‘A’ (Civil or Structural discipline as appropriate); and (b) be permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of engagement unless specified otherwise.
