Woman hit by steel ball near Tai Po river, police investigate wounding
A 31-year-old woman was injured after being struck by an 8mm steel ball near the Tai Po river. Police found the ball at the scene and classified the case as wounding, with no arrests made yet.
A 31-year-old woman was injured after being struck by a steel ball near the Tai Po river on Sunday afternoon, according to police. The incident occurred at around 5pm near Wan Tau Tong Estate, where the woman, surnamed Yuen, reported being hit on her left hand.
Officers who responded to the scene found a steel ball measuring 8mm in diameter. The woman sustained injuries to her left fingers and was taken to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital in a conscious state.
The case has been classified as wounding and has been transferred to the Tai Po police district crime investigation team. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
