Wine and dine festival draws crowds at Central Harbourfront
The Hong Kong Tourism Board's wine and dine festival at Central Harbourfront attracted good crowds on its opening night, with exhibitors reporting positive foot traffic boosted by Halloween. Visitors from Shenzhen expressed confidence in cross-border travel arrangements.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board's wine and dine festival at Central Harbourfront drew a strong turnout of tourists and residents on its opening night, Thursday 30 October. Attendees praised the lively atmosphere and the opportunity to sample a wide range of wines and cuisines with friends on a Friday evening.
A wine exhibitor noted that the event's timing over Halloween had helped boost foot traffic, with visitors showing enthusiasm. The exhibitor expected even larger crowds on Friday and forecast overall sales to be similar to last year's event.
A visitor from Shenzhen, attending the festival for the first time, described the experience as novel and the atmosphere as vibrant. She planned to return to Shenzhen late at night and expressed confidence in the Hong Kong government's border-crossing arrangements, saying she was not worried about overcrowding and considered large crowds during peak hours to be normal.
Organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the four-day festival runs from Thursday evening until late Saturday night, with the venue open until 1am on Saturday.
