Tesla mounts pavement after collision with KMB bus in Kowloon Tong

A Tesla and a KMB bus collided at a junction in Kowloon Tong on the evening of Thursday 15 October, sending the car onto the pavement where it damaged a railing.

The accident occurred around 6pm when the Tesla was travelling east along Suffolk Road and preparing to turn onto Waterloo Road, while the KMB bus was travelling north along Waterloo Road. The two vehicles collided at the junction.

The Tesla veered off its lane, mounted the pavement and only stopped after hitting a railing.

Photos circulating online showed damage to the front left of the bus, with the Tesla lying across the pavement and only a narrow gap between it and the wall of a nearby building. Pedestrians were seen trying to squeeze through the gap.

Rescuers and police arrived and both drivers reported no injuries. Police are investigating the cause.
