Rats filmed at Kwai Fong MTR station and Kwun Tong pavement
Videos circulating online show rats at Kwai Fong MTR station and on a Kwun Tong pavement. Netizens question the effectiveness of rodent control after multiple sightings across Hong Kong, including Hung Hom, Kwai Chung and Tai Kok Tsui.
Videos of rats are circulating online in multiple districts. Footage uploaded on Tuesday showed a rat moving along the wall of Kwai Fong MTR station concourse, repeatedly jumping and trying to enter a fire service installation.
Another video, reportedly filmed in Kwun Tong, showed more than 10 rats moving along a pavement and entering a water-filled barrier.
Netizens questioned why rats were appearing across so many districts and raised concerns about the effectiveness of current rodent control methods.
On Sunday, at least 10 rats were filmed in a back alley next to a restaurant in Hung Hom's Baker Circle. Rat problems have also drawn attention at Tai Loong Street sitting-out garden in Kwai Chung and Cherry Street Park in Tai Kok Tsui.
