LegCo canteen opens, President Lau calls for customer-focused service
Hong Kong's Legislative Council canteen officially opened on 6 October. LegCo President Lau Hui-king said the canteen should listen to users' opinions and become a well-regarded dining venue.
Hong Kong's Legislative Council (LegCo) canteen officially opened on 6 October, with LegCo President Lau Hui-king and several lawmakers attending a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Speaking at the event, Lau said the canteen's successful launch depended on the support and co-ordination of the House Committee's catering sub-group and the secretariat. She noted that running a LegCo canteen is not an easy task, given the large number of building users, the tight working pace, and the high expectations regarding food and pricing.
Lau said she was pleased that the canteen operator had listened humbly to customer feedback during the trial period and had actively adjusted and improved its services. Many lawmakers had also personally asked different diners for their opinions, she added.
The LegCo President expressed hope that the canteen would continue to put customers first, improve further, and ensure that everyone eats happily and safely, eventually becoming a well-regarded dining venue.
Lau also said the canteen would regularly update its menu to maintain a sense of freshness. Later, it would introduce more value-added services tailored for lawmakers and users, including meal delivery arrangements.
