Hong Kong's Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Rosalia Lo, on 24 October congratulated athletes after the city's delegation won its third gold medal at the fifth Asian Para Games. Lo singled out the 'world number one' pair of Leung Yuk-wing and Cheung Yuen, who won gold in the mixed BC4 doubles boccia event, winning four consecutive sets in the final.

In boccia, Lo hailed Lung Tsz-kin, Chan Pak-lun and Yeung Siu-lam for taking bronze in the mixed BC1/BC2 team event, and Tse Tak-wah and Chan Ho-yan for bronze in the mixed BC3 doubles event.

Lo said the athletes brought further good news on the final day of the Games, winning five medals overall. She noted that the boccia team achieved its best ever result with two gold, three silver and three bronze medals. The fencing team added one silver and one bronze, bringing its total to three silver and five bronze medals, surpassing its previous Games performance.

Hong Kong's delegation finished the Asian Para Games with three gold, 14 silver and 24 bronze medals, for a total of 41 medals. Lo expressed heartfelt thanks to all athletes for their full commitment, as well as to the coaches, medical team and support staff, saying the glory belongs to the entire team and has brought the people of Hong Kong inspiration and pride.
