The Trade and Industry Department (TID), the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Committee, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Promotion Centre led a delegation to Dongguan on 5 November 2026. The approximately 50-member group was received by Dongguan municipal government officials.

The delegation visited the XbotPark robotics base in Dongguan's Songshan Lake area, where local officials briefed them on the city's artificial intelligence (AI) and low-altitude economy development. Participants also tested innovative technology products developed by companies incubated at the base.

The group then toured Huawei's Songshan Lake campus, including the Sanyapo Library and the Enterprise Business Descartes Exhibition Hall, to learn about the company's technology research and development achievements and its corporate culture of innovation. Delegates held a thematic exchange with Huawei representatives on the application of AI technology and data security governance in smart retail.

The delegation was led by SME Committee Chairman Yu Jian'an and TID Director General Liu Guangxiang, accompanied by representatives of the Greater Bay Area Development Promotion Centre. Participants included members of the SME Committee, the management committees of TID's 'Brand Development, Upgrading and Domestic Market Expansion Special Fund' and the 'Industrial Support Fund', as well as major Hong Kong chambers of commerce and SME organisations.
