Hong Kong sets fourth coupon rate at 4.00 per cent for 2027 silver bond
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority, on behalf of the government, has fixed the fourth coupon rate for the Silver Bond Series due 2027 at 4.00 per cent per annum. The rate, announced on 8 October 2026, applies to the interest payment on 23 October 2026.
The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), acting on behalf of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, announced on 8 October 2026 the annual interest rate for the fourth coupon payment of the Silver Bond Series due 2027 (issue number 03GB2710R). The bond was issued under the Infrastructure Bond Programme.
According to the bond's offering circular dated 30 September 2024, the fourth interest payment date is set for 23 October 2026. The applicable rate for this payment was determined and published on 8 October 2026, based on the higher of the prevailing floating rate and the fixed rate.
As of 8 October 2026, the floating rate stood at 1.80 per cent, while the fixed rate was 4.00 per cent. In accordance with the terms, the HKMA has set the fourth coupon rate at the higher figure of 4.00 per cent per annum.
