Hong Kong releases kindergarten profiles for 2026/27 school year
The Education Bureau has published the online version of the 2026/27 Kindergarten Profile, listing basic information for about 930 kindergartens in Hong Kong to help parents choose schools.
The Education Bureau on 15 October released the online version of the 2026/27 school year “Profile of Kindergartens and Kindergarten-cum-Child Care Centres” (www.chsc.hk/kindergarten), providing basic information on all kindergartens and kindergarten-cum-child care centres in Hong Kong. The bureau said the profile aims to enhance school transparency and help parents obtain more relevant information when choosing schools for their children.
The profile lists basic information on about 930 kindergartens across Hong Kong, including the list of schools participating in the 2026/27 kindergarten education scheme, approved school fees, the number of principals and teachers and their qualifications, student numbers, teacher-to-student ratios, curriculum information, reference prices for major educational supplies, application fees, registration fees and admission application details.
The profile also includes sections on “support for non-Chinese speaking students” and “support for students with special educational needs” for parents’ reference, the bureau said.
For kindergartens participating in the scheme, the profile shows the approved school fees after deducting government subsidies. Parents can also refer to the school’s fee certificate to check approved charges, including details of tuition and meal fees, the bureau said. All participating kindergartens are required to publicly disclose the proportion of expenditure in major spending areas in the profile.
All kindergartens in the scheme must undergo quality reviews to ensure standards. The profile indicates whether kindergartens that have completed quality reviews have met specified standards and provides links to the most recent quality review reports, according to the bureau.
