Hong Kong records 690,000 talent scheme applications, 320,000 arrivals
Hong Kong Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki says the city received about 690,000 applications under various talent schemes as of last month, with 320,000 arrivals. He spoke at a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area talent conference in Dongguan.
Hong Kong's Chief Secretary Chan Kwok-ki said the territory's various talent schemes had received about 690,000 applications as of last month, with 320,000 people having arrived in the city.
Chan made the remarks while addressing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area High-quality Talent Development Conference in Dongguan. He noted that the next edition of the conference will be held in Hong Kong, and the authorities would make full preparations.
The Hong Kong Talent Engagement Office recently organised an exhibition in London, cooperating with more than 50 enterprises and institutions from Hong Kong and mainland Chinese cities, particularly others in the Greater Bay Area, to recruit overseas talent and promote regional development opportunities.
Chan said Hong Kong would continue to work with cities in the Greater Bay Area to facilitate the flow of people, goods, capital and information, and to push forward the alignment of rules and mechanisms to ease the movement of talent within the area.
The Chief Secretary added that the talent office would continue to promote Hong Kong in key global regions in the coming year, and looked forward to closer cooperation with Greater Bay Area cities.
