Hong Kong lawmaker offices splashed with red paint; police arrest man for criminal damage

The joint constituency office of Hong Kong legislators Tang Chon-ka and Chan Pui-leung, located on the ground floor of Sau Mau Ping Estate's Sau Chi House, was suspected to have been splashed with red paint. According to sources, police have arrested a man on suspicion of criminal damage.
Sources said police reviewed closed-circuit television footage to track down the suspect and arrested him at his home unit. The suspect is believed to have visited the office seeking assistance but later claimed his complaint was unresolved and that the office failed to provide help. Police initially believe the incident is not linked to triads or debt collection.
Police received a report from security personnel at the address around 6am today, stating that the office had been splashed with red paint. Officers arrived at the scene and classified the case as criminal damage.
