The 14th Microfilm “Create+Collaborate” Support Scheme (Music Edition) held its pairing event and microfilm production kick-off ceremony on 5 October 2026, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government announced.
Creative Industries Assistant Commissioner Yip Man-yee said at the ceremony that since the scheme's launch, it has supported more than 340 advertising production companies and over 290 singers in working together, providing a valuable creative platform and hands-on production experience for the local film, television, advertising and music sectors. The Creative Industries Office will continue to actively promote cross-sector collaboration in local creative industries, encouraging their development toward professionalisation, industrialisation and internationalisation.
This year's scheme includes two funding categories: the “Start-up Enterprise Category” and the “Professional Category”. Selected creative teams will receive production funding as well as professional training and guidance to produce original microfilms. At the kick-off event, ten start-up advertising production companies in the Start-up Enterprise Category were paired with singers, while the five teams in the Professional Category were formed independently by directors, scriptwriters, singers and advertising production companies.
The microfilms are expected to be released online in January 2027 and showcased to the industry at the Hong Kong International Film and TV Market in March 2027.
Launched in 2013, the Microfilm “Create+Collaborate” Support Scheme (Music Edition) is a cross-sector collaboration project combining advertising and film production with music creation. It aims to promote collaboration between emerging local directors and their creative teams with local singers to produce original microfilms, fostering the development of Hong Kong's creative industry ecosystem.
