Mr Cheuk noted that over the past half-century, the CAS Band had grown from a small ensemble into a musical group widely recognised by society. He said the band's development reflected the dedication of successive members, demonstrating the CAS's enduring commitment to serving the community.
Other guests included Professor Albert Lui Kai-ming, Acting Provost of Hong Kong Baptist University; CAS Controller Pang Wing-sang; and Civil Aid Services Chief Superintendent Leung Kwun-hong.
The concert featured a varied programme, with the CAS Band and Hong Kong Baptist University students performing well-known pieces including You Are the Only One for Me, Brave Chinese and My Motherland and I.
The CAS Youth Corps sang You Raise Me Up and presented a Chinese drum performance. Hong Kong Baptist University students contributed piano solos, flute and clarinet duets, and a Chinese dance. The concert concluded with all participants singing patriotic and local classics such as Ode to the Motherland and Below the Lion Rock.
