A hill fire erupted near Cheung Ngau Shan and Tseng Hang Shan in Yuen Long on Sunday morning, producing a 30-metre fire front that burned through a significant area of vegetation.
The Fire Services Department received multiple emergency calls at around 11am, while the Government Flying Service was also deployed to carry out water bombing operations in an effort to contain the blaze.
Authorities noted that several graves are located in the vicinity, raising concerns that the fire may have been accidentally started by visitors sweeping graves in preparation for the upcoming Chung Yeung Festival.
