Hiker dies after collapsing on trail in Tai Po
A man died after collapsing while hiking near Ha Miu Tin in Wu Kau Tang, Tai Po, on Sunday. He was airlifted to hospital but could not be revived.
A man has died after collapsing while hiking with a companion in Wu Kau Tang, Tai Po, on Sunday, the Standard reported.
At around 3pm, emergency services received a report that two men were hiking near Ha Miu Tin when one of them suddenly felt unwell and lost consciousness, the newspaper said.
The Government Flying Service dispatched a helicopter to the scene to rescue the unconscious hiker, according to the report.
The hiker was airlifted to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, where he received emergency first aid, including the use of an automated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) machine. Despite resuscitation efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the hospital, the Standard reported.
