Hong Kong's Commissioner for Cultural and Creative Industries, Lui Sai-ming, on Monday opened the final stop of a touring architecture exhibition in Hong Kong, highlighting the city's representative public infrastructure. Speaking at the launch, Lui noted that the government has funded Hong Kong's participation in the Venice International Architecture Biennale since 2010, followed by touring exhibitions including the Hong Kong response show, to promote the city's architectural culture internationally.
This year's touring exhibition, themed "Future Heritage: Heritage for the Future", aligns with Hong Kong's future development needs, Lui said. She expressed hope that the architecture sector will continue to work with the government to inject aesthetic appeal and practical function into urban development, including the construction of the Northern Territories.
The Hong Kong response exhibition is the final stop of the touring show, presenting classic but less-studied or -shared examples of mixed-use complexes, multi-functional municipal buildings, cooperative housing, public housing estates and street infrastructure. After its debut at the Venice Architecture Biennale in November 2025, the exhibition toured to Bangkok, Thailand, in January and February this year, and to Shanghai in June.
