Filipina domestic helper arrested over alleged assault of boy, 5, in Kowloon City
A 37-year-old Filipina domestic helper was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a 5-year-old boy in Kowloon City on Wednesday night. The boy was taken to hospital with facial pain after the helper allegedly struck him. Police are investigating on suspicion of child abuse.
A 37-year-old Filipina domestic helper has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a 5-year-old boy in Kowloon City, police said.
Officers received a report from the boy's mother at about 11pm on Wednesday 7 October that her son had been inappropriately treated by the helper at a unit at 97 Hau Wong Road. Initial investigations suggest the helper struck the boy with her hand.
The boy was conscious but complained of facial pain and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for examination.
The helper was arrested on suspicion of child abuse or neglect and is being detained. The case has been handed to the Kowloon City police district crime investigation team.
