Dump truck collides with lorry on Yuen Long Highway, injuring driver
A driver was injured after a dump truck hit a 5.5-tonne lorry on Yuen Long Highway near Fuk Hang Tsuen on Wednesday morning. The lorry driver was trapped, rescued by firefighters, and taken to hospital. Part of the highway remains closed, causing heavy traffic.
A driver was injured on Wednesday morning after a dump truck collided with a 5.5-tonne lorry on Yuen Long Highway near Fuk Hang Tsuen.
The accident occurred around 9.20am in the Yuen Long-bound lanes. The lorry driver was trapped inside the vehicle following the crash before being rescued by firefighters. He remained conscious when taken to hospital for treatment.
The Transport Department announced that part of the Yuen Long-bound lanes near Fuk Hang Tsuen remains closed, forcing motorists to use the remaining open lanes and causing heavy traffic congestion in the area.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is under way.
