Hong Kong opens applications for 2026-27 family education grants

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced on 5 October 2026 that applications for the 2026-27 Family Education Promotion Scheme are now open. The scheme, first launched in October 2024, provides funding for non-profit family education projects run by eligible organisations and non-governmental bodies. Its aim is to raise public awareness of family education and its importance, while promoting family values to enhance family well-being and social harmony.

The scheme covers a wide range of family‑related topics, including education for new parents, parent‑child education, maintaining family relationships, strengthening family cohesion, passing on good family traditions and traditional virtues, helping parents guide children and teenagers to develop positive and self‑reliant values, and other marriage‑related themes. This is intended to meet the diverse needs of different families. In addition to these topics, applicant organisations may also seek funding for projects addressing other family‑related issues that reflect current social concerns. Proposed projects may cover more than one topic, provided all topics are family‑related.

For projects lasting 12 months, the maximum grant is HK$800,000. For projects lasting 18 months, the maximum grant is HK$1.2 million. Details of the scheme, including application guidelines and forms, have been uploaded to the official scheme website at www.pfe.gov.hk. Interested eligible organisations and non‑governmental bodies are invited to submit applications.
