The board members, who are not public officers, bring extensive experience in arts and culture, tourism, engineering, business and finance, law, and community services. Their expertise will contribute to the board's statutory duties and oversight of the district's development and operation.

A spokesman for the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau expressed gratitude to outgoing members Hak Kwok-keung and Ng Yuen-ting for their contributions, and welcomed new appointees Wong Bi-yu and Cheung Kwan, stating: "We look forward to continuing close cooperation with the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority board."

Under the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority Ordinance (Cap. 601), the board serves as the authority's governing and executive body, responsible for planning, developing, operating, and maintaining the district's arts and cultural facilities.

The appointments were announced on October 9, 2026, with the new term effective immediately.
