All 13 Light Public Housing projects open for applications in Hong Kong
Hong Kong's Housing Bureau says all 13 Light Public Housing projects are now open for applications, with the final two sites adding about 210 flats by next March. Over 44,900 applications have been received, and the bureau is prioritising forms submitted by December 6.
The Housing Bureau announced that all 13 Light Public Housing projects are now open for applications, following the completion of the final two sites converted from school premises in Shun Lee Road, Kwun Tong, and Chuk Yuen Road, Wong Tai Sin. These two projects will provide about 210 flats, with construction finishing gradually in the first quarter of next year.
Eligible applicants will begin receiving application forms from the bureau from today. Forms submitted by December 6 will receive priority processing. Those who have already submitted forms in earlier rounds do not need to apply again. The bureau said all projects will continue to accept applications from eligible people after December 6.
A spokesman for the bureau said the response to Light Public Housing has been enthusiastic, with more than 44,900 applications received as of the end of last month. All about 30,000 Light Public Housing flats will be completed by the end of March next year, taking just over four years to build, ahead of the five-year target set in the 2022 Policy Address.
