Xi says China seeks peace in Middle East, stable energy partnership with Oman

Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks with Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of Oman, who is on a state visit to China, on 2 November. Xi said China is willing to continue offering firm mutual support to Oman, and that doing so will bring greater opportunities to countries including Oman. He also expressed a willingness to deepen development strategy alignment with the Omani side and to become a stable and reliable energy partner.

On the situation in the Middle East, Xi noted that the Gulf region should not become an arena for major-power rivalry or geopolitical conflict. He said China has always been actively committed to ending wars and promoting peace, and will continue to advocate for resolving disputes through political and diplomatic means.

Xi added that China is willing to strengthen communication and coordination with Arab countries and Gulf Cooperation Council states, including Oman, to jointly work toward the early restoration of regional peace and security, as well as long-term stability.

According to the official Xinhua News Agency, Sultan Haitham highly commended China's fair position on Middle East issues and expressed a willingness to closely coordinate with China to jointly promote regional and global peace and security.
