Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a letter to mark the 70th anniversary of the Central Socialist College, praising its role in training pro-Communist non-party figures and urging it to follow the new-era socialist thought.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has sent a letter of congratulations to the Central Socialist College on its 70th anniversary, state media reported on 20 October.
In the letter, Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, said that over the past seven decades the college has adhered to its socialist identity and trained a large number of non-party representatives who have worked in unity with the party.
He added that the institution has made important contributions to consolidating and developing the patriotic united front.
Xi stressed that at this new starting point, the college should be guided by the new-era Chinese socialist thought, firmly uphold the correct direction of school operation, continuously strengthen political training, and broadly build political consensus.
The college should also keep improving its teaching, research and governance standards, Xi said. He urged it to further play a role in training talent for the united front, conducting theoretical research, and promoting policies and guidelines, so as to better serve the work of the party and the state.
