China youth jobless rate falls to 18% in September
China's urban youth unemployment rate for 16- to 24-year-olds fell to 18 per cent in September from 18.9 per cent in August, data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed. The rate for 25- to 29-year-olds also dipped slightly, while the rate for 30- to 59-year-olds held steady.
China’s urban unemployment rate for youths stood at 18 per cent in September, improving from August’s 18.9 per cent which had been the worst reading in 12 months, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Wednesday.
The group consists of 16- to 24-year-olds, excluding students.
For people aged 25 to 29, the unemployment rate was 7.4 per cent, down from 7.5 per cent in August. The rate for 30- to 59-year-olds matched the August rate, at 3.9 per cent.
