Luk Fook reports 12 per cent rise in same-store sales for second quarter

Luk Fook Holdings (International) (0590) reported an 8 per cent rise in retail sales value (RSV), a 23 per cent increase in retailing revenue, and a 12 per cent growth in same-store sales (SSS) for the second quarter of its financial year ending 31 March 2027 and the first week of October 2026, despite a high comparison base.

In the Hong Kong and Macao market, RSV and retailing revenue (including self-operated shops and e-commerce) both rose by 17 per cent year-on-year. The company attributed this primarily to the favourable pricing differential between Hong Kong and Macao compared with Mainland China, as well as the appreciation of the renminbi (RMB), which spurred Mainland visitor traffic and supported business growth.

Overall SSS in the Hong Kong and Macao market increased by 13 per cent, with Hong Kong's SSS up 10 per cent and Macao's up 19 per cent.

In the Mainland market, overall RSV (including self-operated shops, licensed shops and e-commerce) fell by 2 per cent. Within this, RSV of gold products increased by 4 per cent, while fixed-price jewellery products declined by 24 per cent. Among fixed-price jewellery products, RSV of fixed-price gold products dropped by 19 per cent.
