K11 MUSEA sees 26% rise in tourist spending during National Day Golden Week

New World Development has announced that its K11 MUSEA shopping centre in Hong Kong recorded a year-on-year increase of about 12 per cent in foot traffic during the National Day Golden Week, setting a new record for the period. Tourist spending at the mall rose 26 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Among product categories, jewellery and timepieces remained a key driver of sales, with the largest single transaction amounting to nearly 2 million yuan. Sportswear showed the strongest growth, with member spending in this category surging nearly threefold year-on-year.

Sales from international luxury brand members increased 75 per cent from a year earlier, while fashion and apparel sales rose 25 per cent, indicating sustained high consumer sentiment among high-net-worth individuals.

Restaurant revenue at K11 MUSEA grew 10 per cent, helped by the National Day fireworks display and other festive events, the company said.

New World Development Chief Executive Huang Shaomei said the K11 division's overall performance for the just-ended financial year rose 9 per cent year-on-year. Within that, K11 MUSEA achieved record sales and performed well during the National Day Golden Week, continuing to attract and expand its base of high-net-worth customers.
