Hang Seng Index rises in early trading, tracking Wall Street rally
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index climbed 0.7 per cent in early Tuesday trading, tracking a Wall Street rally. The rise was led by a 2.1 per cent surge in Nvidia, which reached a record close and a market value of US$5.76 trillion.
The Hang Seng Index rose in early morning trading on Tuesday, tracking a Wall Street rally overnight, a staff reporter and Reuters reported. The benchmark index climbed 164 points, or 0.7 per cent, to 24,204 points.
The Hang Seng Tech Index was up by 0.6 per cent to about 4,209 points. In other regional markets, Japan's Nikkei gained 0.7 per cent, while European stock futures climbed 0.5 per cent.
On Wall Street, Nasdaq futures edged up 0.2 per cent and S&P 500 futures rose 0.1 per cent. The rally was led by artificial-intelligence heavyweight Nvidia, which climbed 2.1 per cent, reaching a record-high close and boosting its market value to US$5.76 trillion.
