Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX) has added distribution, agency and administrative services to its Integrated Fund Platform (IFP), extending the platform's functions to cover the full fund distribution process, the exchange announced on 28 October.
The new services aim to build a business-to-business integrated market infrastructure by providing a unified workflow and information exchange connecting fund managers, transfer agents, distributors and other market participants, reducing market fragmentation and improving efficiency in client registration, order processing, settlement, payment, reconciliation and reporting.
The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) welcomed the launch of the new services. From 28 October, distributors including brokerage firms can subscribe and redeem funds for clients on the platform. In the long term, the IFP is expected to expand fund distribution channels, helping attract more diversified and sustainable local and cross-border capital, consolidating Hong Kong's position as a leading global wealth management centre.
The IFP was launched in December 2024 with a fund database, followed by an order routing service in July 2025. The number of IFP participants has grown from an initial 33 to more than 60 distributors, fund houses and transfer agents. With the introduction of the platform and agency services, all major IFP services are now operational.
